Silver Oak Remodel transformed a dark home with a segmented floor plan into a warm, open retreat. The result is filled with natural light, thoughtful craftsmanship and timeless design. Located in Brookfield, GA, the original home’s layout offered little light, limited storage, and poor flow for the clients. The clients hoped for an open layout that encouraged visibility and improved daily function.
The remodeler created a design direction centered on clean lines, warm textures and simplicity.
To enhance functionality, more storage was added throughout the space. Each piece of custom cabinetry feels more like fine furniture than built-in storage: warm wood tones, intentional proportions and meticulously crafted door profiles create a sense of elegance.
Layered lighting played an equally important role in elevating the project’s design. Instead of relying on a single light source, the remodeler thoughtfully combined architectural lighting, decorative fixtures and task illumination to create depth and warmth throughout the home. Even in spaces with a darker color palette, such as the newly added powder room, this strategy brightens the space, making it feel larger, inviting and luxurious. The wood panel flooring contrasts beautifully against the navy walls, while gold fixtures give the bathroom a contemporary flavor. After turning the small bathroom into a statement piece within the home, the remodeler described it as, “sophisticated, moody and memorable, providing a playful moment to refresh, or a show-stopping surprise for company.”
The most dramatic change came from removing the dividing wall between the kitchen and family room, opening up the space to encourage flow and allow natural light in.
